Maxim Borisov, Russia, wins the Swedish Masters 2012 after the final victory against Yanis Galuzo. The world junior champion and bronze medallist from last Swedish Masters could see Galuzo catch up from 3-0 to 3-2, but could finally claim his first big title after 4-2 (2-1, 5-4, 4-0, 2-8, 4-5, 5-1).
Seeding details
The qualification groups will be drawn from 19 seeding groups. All participants are placed into the different seeding groups according to their position on the ITHF world ranking.
There is one exception, though. The players in seeding group 9 are hand picked, as the organization committee has chosen the six most underranked Swedish players. The reason for this? Stefan Edwall and Lars Henriksson are clearly underranked. Instead of the impossible task of trying to estimate how they would be ranked if they had played more tournaments lately, they are placed in a separate seeding group. To fill this group, we looked for four more Swedes with a clear underranking. We believe that this solution is the most fair one.
The draw is made live at Wednesday 25th at 16.00 CET here. Join!
